This house was designed initially as a two-bedroom home at the top of a grassy hill near the coast at Pataua North. Shortly after it was completed the house was extended to suit a family of five. The design has an eastern flavour seen in the lantern style patterning of the windows and sliding doors, exterior horizontal slatted cedar screens and the asymmetrical arrangement of landscape steps.
