In 2016 we applied for and obtained a Resource consent for a substantial addition to the existing Building. The addition was to include a day stay operating theatre, CSSD, first and second stage recovery ward, plaster room, pre op rooms, and staff facilities. Planning rules and submissions from adjacent land owners restricted the size of the building envelope and limited the height of the building making the space planning a challenge. The theatre addition runs at capacity, with smooth circular patient flow, which has enhanced the efficient operation of the practice allowing for both general consultations and minor surgery to occur concurrently on the site.
